Joe Satriani History

Joe Satriani

Born in Westbury, New York on July 15, 1956, Joe Satriani began playing guitar at age 14 (1979). In 1971, he teaches guitar for next three years at home in Westbury, Long Island (NY). Steve Vai is one of his first students. In 1974, Joe studied with two modern jazz masters, guitarist Billy Bauer and pianist/composer Lennie Tristano; four years later, he moved to Berkeley, California, where he began a 10-year guitar teaching career with students including David Bryson (Counting Crows), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Larry LaLonde (Primus), and Charlie Hunter, and others.
In 1979, Joe formed pop band “The Squares” in San Francisco with Jeff Campitelli on drums and Andy Milton bass. He Release five-song in his eponymous debut Joe Satriani on the independent label he names after his wife, Rubina in 1984. The album contains guitars exclusively. In the following year, he completed his first full-length album Not Of This Earth, which was financed on a credit card and released in 1986 on Relativity Records. Joe release his second album called Surfing with The Alien in 1987. The record became a global phenomenon, going platinum with sales of over a million copies in the U.S. alone and landing Satriani's face on the covers of such magazines as Guitar Player, Musician, Guitar World, and dozens of other international publications. Surfing With The Alien was a landmark release which showcased the guitarist's stunning array of composing, playing , and producing talents. Consequently and deservedly, it became the most successful instrumental rock record since Jeff Beck's Wired. Each subsequent Satriani release - including Flying In A Blue Dream, The Extremist, Time Machine and the recent Joe Satriani, which was produced by the legendary Glyn Johns - has drawn great commercial and critical attention. The same seems certain to be the case with Crystal Planet, and it's not just Joe's fans who have been moved by his unique tone and feel: Players from all walks of musical life have been attracted to Satriani's work.
After sitting in with Joe's band at New York's Bottom Line, Mick Jagger recruited Joe in 1988 as lead guitarist for the singer's very first tour apart from the Rolling Stones. Deep Purple tapped into Satriani's mastery when he assumed lead guitar position in the band for its 1994 tours of Europe and Japan. In 1996, the G3 Tour - featuring Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson - played 24 dates to some 90,000 fans across North America, a tour documented on the G3 Live In Concert album and home video (both Epic). In 1997, Joe united with jazz guitar great Pat Martino to record two tracks, "Ellipsis" and "Never and After," for Martino's acclaimed all-star collection All Sides Now (Blue Note); and enlisted in a second G3 summer tour, this one co-starring Steve Vai, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Robert Fripp. With its cunning marriage of well-structured songs, challenging sonic surprises, moody moments and breathtaking guitar playing, Crystal Planet has all the marks of a great Joe Satriani disc. After a decade of ground breaking work, this is one musician still willing to push the edge of conventional rock beyond what's come before. Joe release his newest album called Train of Angels on July 1998 in US. Joe has become the most recognizable guitar voice of his time, earning his place alongside the great masters of rock guitar. He is perhaps the most successful rock instrumentalist in recent history, selling millions of records and consistently packing concert halls - yet always preserving a strong musical vision, as well as the respect of fellow musicians and forward-thinking music fans worldwide.

Sepultura History

Sepultura
Sepultura is a heavy metal band from Belo Horizonte, which formed in 1984. Sepultura means “grave” in Portugal language, Max Cavalera named their band after he was mentioned Motörhead song called “Dancing on your grave”. This Brazilian band was playing a kind of death metal, and trash metal before people know them playing groove metal realms between 1980s – 1990s before they having a new experiments melding nu metal, hardcore punk, industrial music, and extreme metal. The brothers ( Igor and Max Cavalera ) early likes included early heavier groups such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. They also enjoyed popular heavy metal and hard rock artists of the early 1980s, such as Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, AC/DC, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne. They would travel to a record shop in São Paulo that mixed tapes of the latest records by American rock-metal bands. Their listening habits changed dramatically after being introduced to Venom. As Igor Cavalera put it:
“ I remember the first time I listened to Venom, it was on a friend's borrowed tape. It was similar to Motörhead, only a lot heavier. I remember someone saying: it's the devil's Motörhead! After we got acquainted with Venom, we stopped listening to Iron Maiden and all that lighter stuff. ”
From then on the Cavaleras rapidly started listening to bands such as Kreator, Sodom, Metallica, Exodus and Exciter. By 1984, they had dropped out of school. After constant band member changes, Sepultura established a temporary line-up of Max on electric guitar, Igor on drums, vocalist Wagner Lamounier, and bassist Paulo Jr. Lamounier exited the band in March 1985 after disagreements with the band, and moved on to become the frontman of the Brazilian black metal pioneering band Sarcófago. After his departure, Max took over the vocal duties. Jairo Guedes was the invited to join the band as their lead guitarist. MTV has called Sepultura the most successful Brazilian heavy metal band in history and "perhaps the most important heavy metal band of the '90s". In 1993, one reporter wrote that the band played "machine-gun-tempo mayhem" but that the members "love to attack organized religion and repressive government". They have already produced eleven studio released so far, with their latest new album “A-Lex” in 2009.
On July 6, 2010, it was announced that Sepultura have inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records, and will release their first album for the label in 2011. According to guitarist Andreas Kisser, the band has already started writing new material and will be prepared to go into the studio at the end of 2010.

Aerosmith History

Aerosmith
Aerosmith is an American hard rock band from Boston, also known as the greatest rock and roll band in America. By giving us blues-based hard rock music, they already inspired many subsequent rock artists. The band was formed in Boston in 1970 with Joe Perry on guitar, Tom Hamilton on bass, Steven Tyler on vocal, Joey Kramer on drum, and Ray Tabano who was replaced by Brad Whitford in 1971.
Their first EP ( Eponymous debut ) has been released right a year after they were signed in Columbia Records in 1972 and followed by their first album “Get Your Wings“ in 1974, and the second album “Toys in the Attic“ in 1975. Their third album “Rocks” makes their status as hard rock superstars on 1976. However, drug addiction and internal conflict took their toll on the band, which resulted in the departures of Perry and Whitford, in 1979 and 1981 respectively. They were replaced by Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay. Although Perry and Whitford returned in 1984 and the band signed a new deal with Geffen Records, it was not until the band sobered up and released 1987's Permanent Vacation that they regained the level of popularity they had experienced in the 1970s. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, the band scored several hits and won numerous awards for music from the multi-platinum albums Pump in 1989, Get a Grip in 1993, and Nine Lives in 1997.
Their comeback has been described as one of the most remarkable and spectacular in rock 'n' roll history. After 40 years of performing, the band continues to tour and record music. The band also reached a lot of successes such as gold and multi-platinum album, four Grammy Awards, ten MTV Video Music Awards, and many more.
